Hi there! Hope you had a wonderful weekend.
2025 is just around the corner, so it’s time to speak about next year's astrological transits.
Since this newsletter focuses on the Saturn return, I want to discuss the ingress of this planet to the sign of Aries.
Let’s go.
Saturn in Aries sounds weird
First of all, I like to say that Saturn in Aries feels like a contradiction in itself.
The planet Saturn offers a very stable, serious, slow-burning energy. With Saturn, everything takes time, patience, persistence.
Aries, instead, is a cardinal and fiery zodiac sign.
Being cardinal means it’s located at the beginning of a season: spring in the Northern Hemisphere and fall in the Southern Hemisphere. Every cardinal sign has a pioneering and trailblazing quality.
Fire, as an element, is active and propelled by the desire to explore new ventures.
Do you see why Saturn in Aries looks like a contradiction?
There seems to be a clash between the planet Saturn and the zodiac sign Aries because their symbolic meanings are SO different.
But this paradox offers a lesson to be integrated, especially to those with Saturn in Aries in their birth chart.
Saturn return for Saturn in Aries
You, as someone born with Saturn in Aries in your birth chart, are a leader of some sort.
But sometimes, your leadership skills can burn you out, both literally and figuratively.
Your internal fire needs to be directed into something that ignites you, Otherwise, it may become too abrasive.
The Saturn return brings the perfect opportunity for you to slow down. This astrological transit will allow you to channel that fire in more constructive ways. These constructive ways could sustain the test of time.
You may need to sober up a little bit and become more patient.
But the good news is that you’ll realize that you have more time than you think.
This is the spoiler alert of the Saturn return: Everything feels heavy at first, and you think that you have to decide what you want to do for the rest of your life. But slowly, you’ll notice you have more time than you think.
Mainstream media has brainwashed you into believing that you have to be successful before you reach the age of 30. The age of 30 seems to be an expiration date on all things beautiful.
Nothing further from the truth. Your life is just beginning.
Saturn in Aries as the original Gen Zers
I consider those born in the late 90s with Saturn in Aries to be the originators of the Gen Z demographic. Those born with Saturn in Pisces are the last Saturn generation belonging to the Millennial demographic.
If you were born in the late 90s or early 2000s with Saturn in Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, or Libra, you belong to the Gen Z demographic.
Please notice that generations are not set in stone. This is just a perspective among many.
I like to think that Millennials have Pluto in Scorpio in their birth chart and Gen Zers have Pluto in Sagittarius in their birth chart.
It’s tempting to think that every time Pluto is in one sign, it contains a whole generation. The bad news is that Pluto has a highly elliptical orbit. This means that it could spend from 11.5 to 30.5 years in one sign. It’s not as tidy as Saturn, for example, who always spends from 2.5 to 3 years in one sign.
So I can classify Millenials as those born with Pluto in Scorpio and Gen Zers as those born with Pluto in Sagittarius. But this classification won’t fit like clockwork for every generation.
Nevermind. I’m digressing now.
Let’s go back to Gen Zers and those with Saturn in Aries more specifically.
Gen Z is the first generation totally connected to social media. You are also experiencing the rapid changes that social media has brought.
When Gen Zers were born, the internet was quite common and part of daily life in the developed world. If you are in your late twenties now, you may struggle with anxiety and depression, sometimes propelled by the constant connection that social media platforms offer.
The Saturn return for people with Saturn in Aries born in the 90s will be a great opportunity to filter how you want to exist online.
You may be toying with the idea of leaving social media for good. Or maybe you want to embrace a slow social media life and engage in platforms like this one, such as Tumblr, or Pinterest rather than Instagram, Snapchat, or TikTok.
On the other side of the spectrum, you may suffer from FOMO. The desperation caused by feeling left out will make you chronically online, even if doing so it’s detrimental to your mental health.
Be that as it may, the 30-year crisis is an excellent opportunity to focus on direction rather than speed. This applies to both your online and offline choices.
Speed without direction means nothing. If you want to go somewhere really important to you, you can apply your internal fire and go in that direction. Just remember to do so slowly and intentionally.
How can you prepare for the Saturn return if you have Saturn in Aries?
Before the Saturn return, when you are having a good time or at least you’re not struggling with a debilitating crisis, you can start preparing for this transit.
The best way to do so is by giddying up your nervous system.
These are some simple practices that you can find helpful:
Having an analog hobby
Reading
Gardening
Baking
Spending time in nature
Doing sports or physical activity
Breathing exercises
Grounding
I know that this list sounds kind of naive or dumb in a world that is in shambles. Still, I consider that going back to basics can provide a foundation from which to make structural changes in your existence.
Try to find practices that make you feel good. Not in a self destructive way, but in a calm and relaxed way.
This year, I was invited to the Lights On podcast with Catarina Esteves. That’s where I mentioned some of these practices.
During our conversation, Cat said that the Saturn return is like a roller coaster. So these practices almost trap you onto your seat and ensure you’re nice and held on.
By committing to some of these practices, you can be safe as you ride this crazy roller coaster.
Cat added that there’s a lot of doom and gloom associated with Saturn. But there are a lot of good things associated with this planet, too.
Your Saturn return can bring you breakthroughs and clarity in terms of the responsibilities that you have to assume. Sometimes, it’s a bit too much, but it’s also good that you’re stepping up to the role and finally feel like an adult.
Cat said that she didn’t quite feel like a woman before she hit her thirties. Then she had this breakthrough: “Now I have what it takes.”
Her Saturn return allowed her to pursue her passions unapologetically.
I wholeheartedly agree with her experience. My Saturn return also showed me what I was made for.

Last lessons for Saturn in Pisces in 2025 and early 2026
Saturn retrogrades every year. Nothing to worry about that.
This planet spends almost a third of its cycle in the retrograde motion. So pretty much 33% of the population has Saturn retrograde.
Having Saturn retrograde in your birth chart is not weird. It’s not a curse. You just happened to be born when Saturn was in its retrograde phase.
The same applies to Saturn retrograde by transit.
If you don’t have Saturn retrograde in your birth chart, you still go through the periods of the year when Saturn is retrograde. Again, this is normal and nothing to be scared of.
In 2025, if you have Saturn in Pisces, you’ll experience the last lessons of your Saturn return when Saturn goes retrograde.
From September 1st, 2025, to February 13th, 2026, people born with Saturn in Pisces will experience the final chapter of their Saturn return.
These 5 months are like the closing thoughts for the Saturn in Pisces cohort.
People who have Saturn in Aries in their birth chart will have a trial period of their Saturn return from May 24th, 2025, until September 1st.
Then, they will have a resting period while the Saturn in Pisces people finish their Saturn return.
Starting from February 13th of 2026, they will feel their Saturn return in full force.
I know this sounds like a mouthful. No worries. It will become more evident in future texts.
But if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to leave them in the comments so I can take a look at them.
Thank you for being here, and until next time!
With love,
Valentina
